The Mixed Institute of Social Assistance (IMAS) is an autonomous institution with legal status created in accordance to Law Decree 4750 dated April 30, 1971 and in force as of May 8, 1971.
It is aimed at resolving extreme poverty problems nationwide and therefore plans, directs, executes and controls a national plan with the aforementioned goals in mind.
