The National Social Development Fund (FONCODES) is ascribed to the Ministry of Women and Social Development (MIMDES), it participates in three areas of the National Plan Against Poverty, mainly in rural areas by financing social investment projects both for social and economic infrastructure as well as for productive development capabilities. It has developed prevailing models domestically validated, and has developed specialized instruments aimed at reducing poverty in coordination with Regional and Local governments and a strategic alliance with the civil society.
Its mission is to promote, channel and assist public and private resource management to generate economic prospects and improve human and institutional capabilities. In addition, contributing to sustainable and inclusive local development in order to effectively accomplish poverty reduction by integrating territories and fostering a culture of peace in unison with local offices and other institutions.
