The Ministry of Social Development is in charge of promoting and facilitating the onset of the Government’s Social Development Plan. The Ministry is the central social coordinating body for planning, development and implementation of a political agenda, research programs, supervision and policy, programs and social projects assessment. In addition, it helps to establish a network by gathering data and distributing it amongst social indicators and social editions at the Ministry level. The Ministry is also responsible for the Senior Citizen Division and the Community Mediation Program.
This institution provides a network of effective and accessible integrated social services by means of high-quality programs and projects that promote dignity and respect for the lives of the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.
